Frecciarossa ("Red Arrow") is Trenitalia's high-speed train service, offering comfortable travel and high speeds, but only during the day. Passengers can expect comfortable seats, free Wi-Fi, free entertainment, and dining options on these services. Frecciarossa trains connect cities like Milan, Rome, Florence, Venice, and Naples, and also offer routes to France, such as Paris. The executive carriage on the new Frecciarossa service from Paris to Marseille offers a luxurious experience reminiscent of Emirates business class, but on rails. It’s Executive Class service on its trains to Paris, with the route running from Paris to Milan via Turin, and includes luxurious amenities such as personalised service from a dedicated steward, gourmet meals with a choice of menus, an open bar with Italian wines, and exclusive access to FrecciaLounge lounges at stations. The Frecciarossa 1000 train features 10 private, reclining leather armchairs that rotate 180 degrees, a private meeting room, and power outlets for a comfortable and private journey.
This “Red Arrow” train racing through France has emerged due to the competition between the incumbent SNCF (Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Français, the French national state-owned railway company) and the Italian challenger, Trenitalia. This rivalry has also improved the service in standard class, where tickets to the Mediterranean are available for as low as €27 (£23). The armchair seats in the Frecciarossa executive class come at a higher price of €180 (£156) for the three-hour journey. The premium fare includes attentive service from a dedicated steward who looked after you and the nine other passengers throughout the trip, serving dishes prepared by Carlo Cracco, a chef known for his Michelin-star restaurant and as the host of MasterChef Italia (Italy’s equivalent of Gordon Ramsay).

Dishes include such as Sardinian semolina pasta with Ischia-style chicken and fennel, and after that, desserts and charcuterie platters which are served in an impressive flurry of napkins and cutlery. All of this was included in the fare.
