Genoa International Boad Show 2025

A global symbol of the boating world, the 65th edition of the Genoa International Boat Show kicks off, scheduled to take place from 18th to 23rd September. With over 1,000 boats on display, 23 new yards to discover, exhibitors flying the flags of 45 countries, 123 new products and 96 premieres, the Genoa International Boat Show reaffirms its leading role as a unique event worldwide. A fully comprehensive Show in terms of product range, the venue is located directly on and within the sea, with the opportunity to experience sea trials first-hand – over 3,800 last year – an experience no other event can offer. From the pinnacle of boatbuilding – yachts, superyachts, sailing, inflatable and multihulls – to the latest ground-breaking technology, equipment, components and electronics; get ready to experience the best of boating.

Future, innovation and vision will be at the heart of the 6th edition of the Design Innovation Award, scheduled for Friday, 19th September at the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa’s city centre, which will once again reward the ability of exhibiting companies to anticipate trends and set international standards. Some of the most famous Interior Designers are also focused on Yacht interiors, with last year’s winner in the category: Imbarcazioni a motore oltre i 14m LH – for the  Seadeck 7 and constructor  Azimut, and exterior designer  Alberto Mancini, and Interior designer Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez. For the category:  Award Winner 2024: Superyacht oltre i 24m LH, the SP92 and constructor Sanlorenzo and exterior designer: Zuccon International and Interior Designer Piero Lissoni.

Of course, given that we are in Italy and Genoa, famous for its Ligurian cuisine, there are a lot of food options to consider. For dining during the Genoa Boat Show, you can find several options near the exhibition area, such as seafood restaurants like Ostetrattoria or Ristorante Santa Monica. Ostetrattoria: (Via Rimassa): Offers mainly fish, with excellent raw fish and capon magro, but with medium-high prices. And Santa Monica Restaurant: (Corso Italia): Refined seafood restaurant with a beautiful sea view.

From September 18th to 23rd, a celebration marks the transition from summer to autumn, featuring outdoor events with beautiful boats in the marina. This gathering appeals to sea enthusiasts, showcasing everything from dinghies to superyachts, all set against a backdrop redesigned by Renzo Piano. After the event, visitors can enjoy a culinary revival in the city, with innovative dishes and a respect for tradition. Top street food options include Recco focaccia with cheese, Genoese fugassa, and farinata, u gianchettu  , ideally paired with local white wine. Panissa, made with chickpeas and Ligurian olive oil, is another local specialty.

In Genoa, you should try staples like trofie with pesto and pansotti with walnut sauce, as well as other pastas such as trenette and corzetti Genovese. Don’t miss mesciua Spezzina, a legume and grain soup, or minestrone alla Genovese. Tuccu zeneize, a ragù made from a single piece of meat, pairs well with mandilli, egg pasta bundles brought by Arab traders. While rabbit is a regional specialty, cima alla genovese—veal belly stuffed with various ingredients—is particularly famous. Enjoy these dishes while taking in the sights of the harbor, perhaps reminiscing about the boats you've seen or purchased.
