Missoni Cruise Collection - Ready to go on my Italian Holiday!

Alberto Caliri presents a subtle update to the Missoni brand, focusing on easy-to-wear, cross-generational pieces. In a time when many companies are pursuing shock value through new creative appointments, Caliri advocates for continuity and consistency in womenswear, menswear, and home collections. However, his work is far from lacking in novelty.

The veteran designer is guiding a gentle evolution at this renowned house, a challenging endeavor. Caliri addresses this familiar challenge by appealing to a broad range of customers, rather than focusing solely on new generations. He takes a clear, cross-generational approach by subtly updating the fit and finish of classic wardrobe staples while preserving a certain bourgeois charm that is intrinsic to the brand. In the 2026 resort lineup, knitted polo shirts reminiscent of styles from a grandfather's wardrobe were transformed into minidresses. These appeared alongside ‘60s-inspired designs that embodied a youthful yet sophisticated mood.

The Cruise collection also featured easy, breezy ankle-length options that contributed to a polished, laid-back attitude. Cashmere cardigans showcased a 3D technique, while finer-gauge patterned knits and pleated skirts and dresses sparkled with Lurex threads or tiny sequins woven into their fabric. Despite its apparent simplicity, the collection offered many desirable pieces, especially those that strayed from the brand’s signature patterns. A long-sleeve dress featuring a diagonal motif felt very Missoni without relying on the traditional zigzag design. Additionally, the archival Oriental Garden print provided a refreshing touch to dresses and bowling shirts.
