The most famous cocktail bar in Rome will open for the summer on the terrace of a luxury hotel in Forte dei Marmi. It’s called Sky Kong, a new temporary cocktail bar that will launch at the end of May on the terrace of the 5-star Principe Forte dei Marmi hotel in Tuscany.
Sky Kong will feature signature cocktails crafted by Patrick Pistolesi, along with dishes prepared by the chef of the starred restaurant Lux Lucis, which is located on the top floor of the hotel and led by chef Valentino Cassanelli. The bar will operate from Thursday, May 29, until September 15, taking over the 67 Sky Lounge, a venue within the hotel that boasts views of both the sea and the Apuan Alps.
Drink Kong, the Roman cocktail bar led by Pistolesi, is not unfamiliar with such pop-up experiences. Last summer, they collaborated with the Galleria Nazionale di Roma to open WunderKong in the scenic Aldrovandi garden, which was also a temporary summer space. Now, they are transitioning to Versilia with Sky Kong, which highlights its prime location in its name. Patrick Pistolesi expressed his excitement about this partnership, stating, "We are happy to bring the spirit of Drink Kong to Forte dei Marmi for the whole summer, in a location like the terrace of the Hotel Principe. Combining our vision of mixology with the elegance of Versilia will create a journey of flavors and style."
In fact, Sky Kong will not be a simple cocktail bar but a place where you will work in synergy with the cuisine of Valentino Cassanelli. A chef from Modena born in 1984, he has been leading the Lux Lucis restaurant on the top floor of the Hotel Principe Forte dei Marmi since 2012. A local cuisine that earned its first Michelin star in 2017, still confirmed today. The Sky Kong menu is not yet available but it is certain that there will be signature cocktails, in the Drink Kong style, with a pairing of dishes created by the chef. The official opening is scheduled for May 29 with the presence of Patrick Pistolesi, to which two other special evenings will be added on June 12 and July 24.
