Latest trend among Italian Designers - Recycled Denim!

Miu Miu

Denim is the absolute star across a number of the Italian designer collections.  For 2024, Miu Miu Upcycled Denim (the circular and conscious fashion project now in its fourth edition) focuses on the evergreen item present in every wardrobe: denim jeans. Chosen by denim specialists from around the world specifically for their colour, weight and fading qualities and variety of styles: bomber jackets to bralettes, wide leg trousers to vests and jackets to embroidered headbands. Its fourth limited edition Miu Miu Upcycled: features Denim and Patch bags. It tells the stories of clothes and the people who have worn them in the past. The value of history, of the timeless, tells new stories for the present and future.

Dolce & Gabbana

The denim collection by Dolce&Gabbana transcends traditional notions and applications of the cult material in favor of a more urban, expressive, and ground-breaking look . Patchwork patterns, contrasting washes, oversized or ultra-skinny jeans, accessories, matching shoes, and a touch of Sicilian Black or White on t-shirts and tops are in the foreground and add to the overall look allure and seductiveness. A cutting-edge take on denim, with new rules inspired by dazzling pin-up looks for women.

These slingback pumps from Dolce&Gabbana are made from distressed patchwork denim. The design comes with rhinestone-embellished buckles and comes with comfortable leather footbeds and interior trims. Dolce&Gabbana's Beatrice Medium tote is a statement style for the work week. Made from denim patches in various blue washes, it's framed with leather handles and an optional shoulder strap for hands-free wear.

Valentino Garavani

A vintage Levi’s 501 XX Big E jeans served as the canvas for gilded embroidery in Valentino Haute Couture’s collection. Known as the “Big E” for bearing a red tab with a capitalized “E,” the tab denotes jeans produced before 1971. It also means the rare, collector-worthy jeans were manufactured in the United States before Levi’s moved production overseas in 2002. Valentino styled the jeans with chandelier earrings, a simple cutout top, a blue bouclé coat and flat slides adorned with gold bows. It was shown as part of Valentino's Fall/Winter 2023-2024 collection titled “Un Château” staged at the Château de Chantilly. Valentino and Levi’s are a winning combination. In 2021, Piccioli tapped Levi’s to make 517 units of Levi’s Valentino Vintage 517 jeans and 5,107 units of a re-edition of the 517. The unisex jeans were finished with co-branded patches and interiors. The Levi’s® for Valentino collaboration is arguably the most covetable denim to own. Pierpaolo Piccioli has reimagined the timeless 517 style to make it fresh and relevant for today. Each piece of denim is a vintage unaltered original that has been upcycled from previously-worn 517 jeans. If you are not into Jeans, opt for the Valentino Chambray Denim Kaftan with V Gold detail on the front neckline; made from Chambray Denim (100% Cotton).
