On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Opera Festival, the Arena di Verona brings Aida to the world. Hosted by Milly Carlucci, with Luca Zingaretti and Alberto Angela. A highly prestigious event: the new production of Aida, signed by the director Stefano Poda and directed by Maestro Marco Armiliato. On the stage of the ancient Roman amphitheater, the Russian soprano Anna Netrebko, international opera star, will interpret Verdi's heroine. The three hosts interviewed the cast and guests of the parterre, delving into the history of the theater, the curiosities about the opera and everything that revolves around the show. Sophia Loren, as a special guest as the godmother of the evening celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Arena di Verona Opera Festival - being broadcasted worldwide. The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella as also present as a guest.
The RAI television production of the event was managed by a team of 80 professionals, including 15 members of the Rai Cultura staff and 65 technicians from the Rai TV Production Center in Milan. Nineteen high-definition cameras, including 5 special vehicles, guaranteed spectacular shots, while 72 microphones on stage and 16 radio microphones for soloists did ensure perfect acoustics. The evening, was screened live on Radio3, on Rai1 HD channel 501 and on RaiPlay, where it will remain available for 7 days after the premiere.
