Helen Mirren confesses that her dream is it to open a small theater in Puglia in the garden of her farm. The actress is now a Salentine by adoption, with her husband Taylor Hackford she bought a farmhouse near Leuca. Currently in the United States for the presentation of "1923", a series that will be broadcast on Paramount+ and in which she stars with Harrison Ford.
When Helen Mirren is not behind the camera, and wants to relax, unwind; Puglia is her go to holiday destination. In fact, she loves it so much that she even owns a house in the beautiful region. With its deliciously warm weather, sparkling blue ocean, divine food scene and reputation for world class wine, it’s no wonder Italy’s heel has become a hot spot for the rich and famous. Near Tiggiano, in the Salento area of Puglia, Helen bought a 16th century masseria with some rather castle like features. This fortified farmhouse has a large tower, high walls, stone vaulted ceilings, arched doorways and limestone floors.
