Bottega Veneta - Iconic Leather Design Brand supporting local Artisans

Bottega Veneta, the brand with an "intertwined" history - founded in Vicenza in 1966 and expression of the savoir-faire and the best Italian manufacturing traditions, Bottega Veneta has been able to conquer divas and stars of every generation, from Jacqueline Kennedy to Victoria Beckham. Crafting artisanal leather goods, the brand developed a distinctive leather weaving design, the Intrecciato, which instantly became Bottega Veneta's iconic look. "When your own initials are enough" became the brand's historic slogan because the crafted Intrecciato made Bottega Veneta's products immediately recognizable, and its logo only appeared discreetly on the inside of its products. Thanks to the foresight of its creative directors, the timeless elegance of its collections and the 1980 cult film "American Gigolo" where the actress Lauren Hutton carried a Bottega Veneta Intrecciato bag in the movie, that definitively consecrated it as a global luxury brand.

With its project "Bottega for Bottegas", translated: a shop for shops, the luxury label Bottega Veneta is celebrating other traditional Italian brands. On its website and in some shops, products from twelve Italian manufacturers are sold and presented in the shop windows. Also included: Gay Odin chocolate from Naples (from 7 euros), Vanini olive oil from Como (39 euros for three liters) and Martelli Pasta or Cantina Bisson. All brands have existed for at least 100 years.
