The second summer in Italy - Magic of October - 'ottobrate'

October is a special month, almost a second summer, especially when it gives us warm and bright days and sensational autumn colours, which give cities and landscapes a romantic and dreamy atmosphere. And there are places in Italy, where you can still spend your holiday at the sea. Here some tips for Italian seaside holidays in October and where you can experience the magic of the 'ottobrate'. Whether Otranto, the Isle of Ischia or Lampedusa and  Favignana in Sicily, you can still experience warm temperatures in October.

Otranto - Puglia

Otranto in Puglia in October still has temperatures in the mild 20's, and is located in the province of Lecce. It belongs to that area of Puglia called Salento, and is known for its stunning beaches and bays such as the famous Baia dei Turchi, Baia dell’Orte, Conca Specchiulla, Frassanito, Alimini Lakes, Porto Badisco, Punta Palascia, Torre Sant’Emiliano, Torre Santo Stefano. A corner of paradise that affects the southernmost part of the region and occupies that vast strip of land which, from the province of Brindisi, reaches the coasts of the Ionian and Adriatic seas. Otranto has a long history reflected in its architecture and treasures and signs of Macedonians, Greeks, Turks, Romans, Byzantines. Lampedusa - Sicily

Lampedusa is the largest island of the archipelago of the Pelagie islands, in Sicily, and is part of the province of Agrigento. It is the southernmost point of Italy, closest to the coasts of North Africa. Here you will find excellent temperatures even in late October, a calm blue sea, spectacular landscapes and enchanting beaches. Among the best known is that of the Rabbits, but Cala Tabaccara is also worth a visit. Favignana - Sicily

Another unmissable destination in Sicily to continue your summer in October is the extraordinary island of Favignana, in the archipelago of the Egadi Islands. It is a renowned spa, which allows you to relax and heal yourself. In addition to seaside activities, you can visit the Aragonese Castle and the Guevara Tower. And then at every corner you can admire landscapes of extraordinary beauty. The island, in fact, has a unique natural heritage, made up of thermal water springs, hills, cliffs, basins and beaches.
