Parma goalkeeper Gigi Buffon, 43, spent a relaxing weekend with his partner Ilaria D'Amico in the Montagna Verde farmhouse in Licciana Nardi (in the province of Massa-Carrara), winner of the television program "4 Restaurants" as best Lunigiana farmhouse. And just like chef Alessandro Borghese, Buffon also appreciated the cuisine of the Lunigiana farmhouse, which became famous thanks to its participation in the TV show.
Our cuisine is strongly linked to the territory and its typical products, as well as animated by a great passion for the enhancement of traditional local recipes and the rediscovery of ancient and genuine flavors of the past. Our farm, certified organic, which extends, including also the pastures and woods in our management, for over 600 hectares, represents in fact the main source of products with which to make our highly appreciated dishes. The farm project, which started in 1990 with the renovation of the old convent, in the form of an agricultural cooperative, immediately included the recovery of the lands of the Church and of our family, largely abandoned after the war. This is for a direct production of food supplies, and the maintenance of a centuries-old agricultural and pastoral landscape, to which is added the enhancement of the traditional gastronomy of the Apennine and Lunigiana mountains. The basic idea, which has always animated us, when the trend towards "zero km" was not yet in place, was to promptly re-propose this natural, historical and cultural heritage so deeply linked to the material life of local populations. All features that make our cuisine one of the main strengths of the farm.
