The name of the pants is derived from the Italian isle of Capri where the Capri pants became popular in the late 1950s and early '60s. Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly made elegant capris an essential summer pant. Orginally designed by Sonja de Lennart, and with Audrey Hepburn wearing Capri Pants in Roman Holidays and Sabrina, they became incredibly popular in the 50s and 60s among celebrities and VIPs.
Today, Capri Pants are a stylish and flattering look for hot summer days and are part of most designer resort collections. Whether from Giorgio Armani, Missoni or Cinzia Rocca.
